"The Light of the World" - John 8:12

Jesus, wrapping up His discussion with the woman caught in adultery, turns back to the crowd and makes a bold, profound statement: "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life".

Numbers 24:17   I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; a Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and batter the brow of Moab, and destroy all the sons of tumult.

Isaiah 9:2   The people who walked in darkness have seen a great Light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.

Isaiah 49:6   Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’

Luke 2:32    A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel

John 15:11   These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

John 12:35-36   Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light that you may become sons of light.”

Matthew 5:14-16   “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp ad put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

John 15:11  These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.     (I have this one twice because I am going to reference it again in this order for PP)

Philippians 2:14-15   do all things without complaining or disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked an perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world

Matthew 5:16   Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven
