Defy Your Feelings: Trust God!
"I try to trust God but my fears and anxieties overwhelm me. How can I fight this?" God speaks in His Word about how we are to master and handle our emotions and how to trust. This sermon will explore this topic.
Luke 8:49-50 While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.” But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”
John 20:27 The He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
Mark 4:39-40 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased ad there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
Romans 4:19-21 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
Psalm 56:3-4 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
