Heeding the Warning Label

Any Bible reader will be thrown into concern and maybe fear when he or she reads about an unpardonable sin. In this message we will open up the meaning of that sin and will look at the destructive nature of sin.

Numbers 15:30-32 ESV

30 But the person who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native or a sojourner, reviles the Lord, and that person shall be cut off from among his people. 31 Because he has despised the word of the Lord and has broken his commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off; his iniquity shall be on him.”

A Sabbathbreaker Executed

32 While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.

Romans 8:13 KNJV

13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Sermon Discussion Questions:

  • What is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and why did Jesus give this warning?

  • Why is sin like acid?

  • Why should Christians “not play with this acid”?

  • What about people who keep putting off getting right with God… how can this acid affect them? Permanently?

  • Why is Christ so necessary in all of this?
