A Tale of Two Cities (Kingdoms)

Two Kingdoms are flourishing and at war with each other on earth. The nature of them is seen in the controversy in Jesus’ life with the religious leaders of His day. It is seen today as well. There is something frightful and also glorious about these realities in the text opened up in this message.

Matthew 12:14-50
Matthew 4:1
Matthew 23:37-38
Luke 23:28-31
Revelation 18:2
Luke 8:21
Luke 11:27-28
Colossians 3:10-11
1 Corinthians 12:13
Galatians 3:28

Sermon Discussion Questions:

  • What are the 2 Kingdoms in this passage?

  • What is the meaning of the teaching Jesus gives of the "swept and organized house"?

  • How might this apply to: individuals, Jesus' generation, our generation?

  • How does Jesus identify with the Kingdom He has established?

  • What is His point about how to relate to the 2 different "families" in one's life?

  • What are the implications for the church today? For us as individuals on the Final Day?
